Eugene Ulman was born in Russia and grew up in Australia. He has been living, working and travelling all over Africa and beyond since 2001, eventually deciding to make Johannesburg his base.
“I have spent most of my working life exploring and investigating African cities. I see cities generally as places of unlimited inspiration and opportunity, which can also be brutal spaces that squeeze the life out of you and cast you aside.... The images I am presenting at this event are all about Harare. Harare and I have been friends for a long time, and making these images has been part of my process of building this friendship.”
